Snowflake Obsidian is similar to regular obsidian, but with other minerals, such as cristobalite or quartz, trapped inside it, so when it cools, little white snowflakes show in the stone. The volcanic glass is said to purify and ground the body and soul, along with providing protection and balance. The black of the obsidian and the white of the snowflakes represent a balance of dark and light energies.
